Joint Chair of governors – Councillor and Mayor of Crewe Dorothy Flude (Safeguarding, Humanities, EYFS)

“I was elected to the County Council in 2005 representing Crewe South. County Councillors were expected to be school governors and I was given the choice of being a community governor at a high school, a primary school or a nursery school. The primary school was Pebble Brook. I had been a pupil of Mill Street School in the 1950s which was the forerunner of Pebble Brook. I was pleased to be accepted as a community governor at Pebble Brook and some years later became the Chair of Governors. I regard this as a true privilege to have been a pupil and many years later to become the Chair of Governors.”

Joint Chair of governors – Mr John Warham (Health & Safety, Finance, English)

I was Secretary of the Pebble Brook PTA in the 1980s – my two sons attended Pebble Brook.I was also a Parent Governor in the late 80s / early 90s. I was nominated to the Governing Body in 2011 to represent South Cheshire College who I worked for. I left the College in May 2013 but have remained as a Community Governor. I am currently Joint Chair of Governors.

Vice Chair of governors – Mrs Marion Wade (SEND)

I became a governor of this school in 1993. My grandmother and father had both been head teachers of schools; I had taught biology to “A” level and re-trained to teach children with special educational needs. I felt passionately that great schools give children really good opportunities throughout their lives and I wished to be involved in creating a great school. I had some special expertise to offer, which I believe has helped this school. It has been challenging but fantastically rewarding to be one of your governors.

Mrs Dawn Clark (EAL, SMSC, British Values)

I became a governor following a number of years working with the School through my roles in the council as a Community Development officer and latterly as the local Area Partnership manager for Crewe during this time the school supported a number of projects we were delivering in the Brookhouse and Claughton Ave area including a participation budgeting exercise where the school help us spend £2k and we showed how democracy voting worked with the help of the then Mayor of Crewe. I supported the schools change to a cooperative school and I was very honoured to be asked to be on this board and a governor. I also attended the school very briefly for 2 terms in 1971 so I am a former pupil too.

Mrs Julie Hewitt-Williams (SEND,PE)

Julie became involved with the governors whilst her twins attended school. Even though her children have left, Julie still dedicates her time to Team PB.

Mr Neil Robinson ( Maths, Health & Safety)

Neil is a flight attendant for British airways who began his journey as a governor in 2013 and has enjoyed his time on the team. His young son is currently in Year 5.

PCSO Mr Pete Dean ( Safeguarding, Science)

Pete has recently joined the governing body as an associate governor

Miss Vicki Daly (ARTS)

I have taught in almost every year group, lead special needs throughout the school and recently took on my latest challenge as Deputy Head Teacher. I have been a governor for around six years and have enjoyed seeing the school through many changes”.
